On Wednesday, Year 6 went back in time to experience life as evacuees in WWII. We visited museums in Bury to explore different war artefacts, experience an air raid shelter and understand what life was really like at the start of the war. We finished the day with a trip on a steam train from Bury to Rawtenstall, where our evacuees were chosen to live with local villagers! Thankfully, we brought all of our pupils home and back to life in 2018. A wonderful and thought provoking educational visit that made us all realise how fortunate we are.
