Trips & Visits

School trips and educational visits are powerful and positive teaching tools that help to support the curriculum and enhance the social, personal and emotional development of all our learners. At BPS we offer a wide variety of educational trips and memorable themed days in every year group which bring learning to life and build confidence through exposure to new challenges and situations. The opportunities are endless and trips vary from historical visits and theatre trips, to STEM adventures (eg, Museum of Science and Industry), a visit from a mobile planetarium and residential trips to Ironbridge and the Lake District. Our experienced teaching team understands that learning outside the classroom is just as important and provides unique learning experiences for our pupils. By coupling our rich classroom learning curriculum with these invaluable learning experiences, we create a well-rounded education.

The week-long residential trip for Year 6 coordinates with the expertise of The Outward Bound Trust and truly challenges the girls to believe they can achieve more than they ever thought possible. This trip instils confidence and resilience by allowing the girls to participate in activities such as abseiling, gorge scrambling, canoeing and mountain hiking. The girls step outside their comfort zones and come home with a renewed sense of adventure and accomplishment. We have found that these trips are essential for personal growth and developing an appetite to try new things, which is essential for the transition to senior school. The Year 6 residential is a perfect example of how our pupils live out our school motto – believe, persevere and succeed.

“The residential activities we did really pushed our limits – especially that mountain! So many of my friends did not think they could accomplish some of the activities but by the end we were all high-fiving and laughing together. We all felt so accomplished and proud of ourselves. I loved every minute!” – YEAR 6 PUPIL
