Prep

We continue to have high ambitions and expectations of our Prep pupils; we continue to encourage them to work hard, be committed, conduct themselves well and treat all members of our learning community with respect. Pupils are empowered and enabled to excel, both academically and socially, within an inclusive and nurturing environment.

The Prep years are overseen by a form teacher, to continue the high quality of pastoral care and social development and subjects are taught by specialist and passionate teachers to help prepare pupils for the academic rigours of Senior School.

The education we provide is broad, creative and exciting. Our classrooms are a place of growth, discovery and celebration where children are encouraged to develop lively, enquiring minds. Our well-resourced classrooms include science labs, a spacious art room, ICT room, music lab, STEM room, as well as a sports hall with an adjoining dance and drama studio.

We prepare our pupils (and their parents) for 11+ Entrance for local grammar schools along with entrance assessments to a wide range of independent senior schools. When children leave at the end of Year 6, they are ambitious, confident, well-rounded individuals, ready to progress to senior school and embrace the challenges and experiences that lie ahead.

The Prep day runs from 8.40am-3.45pm. Information about our out of school care and holiday club can be found here. To find out more about Prep or to arrange a school visit, please contact Mrs Sharkey, our Admissions Officer, on 0161 928 0678 or email admissions@bowdonprep.org.uk

“By Year 6, the incredibly wide range of responsibilities they take on contributes positively to their own wellbeing and that of pupils of all ages” “They are well prepared for the next stage of their education”
