Most children have school lunches. Menus are planned carefully and girls are encouraged to try a variety of healthy and nutritious food, which is low in salt, sugar and saturated fat. Fresh food from local suppliers is used wherever possible. Hot dishes, including a vegetarian option, are served each day. These come with a selection of vegetables. There is a ‘help yourself’ pasta and salad bar and fresh bread, yoghurts, fresh fruit and milk are also available, along with homemade cakes and biscuits and a hot pudding with custard.
