Science Trip to the Catalyst Museum

The Catalyst Museum is housed in one of the only remaining buildings of the old Gossages Soap works in Widnes, and it is a fantastic place to visit, full of hands-on activities and interesting information for people of all ages. The museum also delivers a range of educational workshops.

Our Year 3 pupils were recently wowed, inspired and had a thoroughly good day out there which included a couple of workshops that enhanced and consolidated what they have already learnt on our Year 3 curriculum.

The day started with a fantastic interactive show, all about light and then after lunch we all had a lot of fun making soap, which we could take and use at home, hopefully not turning blue or green in the process.

A thoroughly good day out was had by all which was evident from the quiet coach journey back to school in time for pick-up.
