The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust

17th June 2015

The Year 6 Charity Committee members have been hard at work and they invited all the girls to join them in raising valuable funds for The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust. Bowdon Prep has established links with this charity and offers support during its annual carol service where our choir performs. As an additional fundraising event, all the girls were given the opportunity to get their creative thinking hats on and design a mystical creature, and with this image in mind they went on to produce wonderful story booklets.

We all feel very proud to support this worthy cause. It was wonderful to welcome Julie Gray from the Trust into our assembly to tell the girls all about the valuable work that they do.

The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust is based at the beautiful Booth Bank Farm, a 17th century farmhouse set in the heart of the Cheshire countryside. It provides a variety of programmes for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from all over the North West.

Each child is treated as an individual with their own strengths, likes and dislikes, and disability is never seen as a barrier to participation. It welcomes children from all social and ethnic groups. It is a lifeline to children who are in desperate need. It prides itself in bringing a little light and fun into the lives of children who have known terrible hardships at a very early age.

Many thanks to all our girls who got involved and to our parents for your generous support.
