Inspired by William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare is known by many people as the ‘Father of English literature’. Almost four centuries have passed since Shakespeare stopped writing yet his poetry and plays are as vivid and alive in our school today as they were back then.

Our Year 5 pupils have enjoyed learning about one of the world’s greatest poets and delving into rich, complex language and the complicated characters and themes, also thinking about how these relate to today’s world.

Inspired by the works of this great playwright, a group of Y5 pupils headed off to Altrincham and made the market area their stage, treating shoppers to a bit of street performance.
