Entry points and admissions procedure

The main entry stages into BPS are Kindergarten and Reception, at ages 3–4 years. Although we pride ourselves on small class sizes across the school, vacancies occasionally occur in other year groups. Admissions procedures differ depending on the age of your child. The process usually begins with a visit to the school for a pre-arranged, personal tour. For Kindergarten, we offer a Stay and Play session, for Pre-Prep, a taster session and for Prep, a Taster Day.  The day involves being paired up with a buddy, meeting her teacher, spending time in and out of the classroom, and generally getting a feel for life at Bowdon Prep, often their favourite part is the delicious lunch!

Kindergarten (ages 3-4)

There are two classes in Kindergarten. Girls can start with us during the term they turn 3 years old. There is no specific entrance assessment when joining us in Kindergarten.

Pre-Prep (Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, ages 4-7)

There are a limited number of places available for entry into Reception at age 4 years. As with Kindergarten, there is no specific entrance assessment when joining us in Pre-Prep.

Prep (Years 3–6, ages 7–11)

For children wishing to join us in Years 3-6, there is a formal entrance assessment and we will also request a comprehensive report from their current school.
