Kindergarten

Starting school is an exciting milestone for your family. From the moment your child begins their journey at Bowdon Preparatory School, we are committed to providing a happy, nurturing and inspiring experience during these important early years.

Our dedicated, experienced staff offer exceptional individual care and support within an enriched, stimulating learning environment — ensuring every child feels known, valued and confident to explore.

In Kindergarten, pupils learn through a wide variety of play-based and creative activities. Through small daily steps, they develop self-assurance, independence and strong social skills. We are proud of our buddy system where every child in Kindergarten is paired with a Year 6 buddy, giving our youngest pupils caring role models and reinforcing the strong sense of community that defines BPS.

The children enjoy a beautiful, dedicated outdoor play area designed to encourage imagination, curiosity and collaboration. We believe that learning should be fun, engaging and rewarding, with half-termly topics that capture interest and inspire discovery. We set high aspirations for all our pupils, and many progress beyond age-related expectations. Working closely with parents, we lay the foundations for a lifelong love of learning among the youngest members of the BPS community.
