Same Values, New Chapter:

Believing, Persevering and Succeeding Together

This September, our big red door opens even wider to welcome both girls and boys — offering the same warmth, the same high standards and the same strong sense of belonging that define Bowdon Preparatory School.

Bowdon Preparatory School is an academically ambitious and nurturing school for children aged 3 to 11. We are delighted you are considering BPS for your child’s education.

Guided by our values — Believe, Persevere, Succeed — we provide a broad and balanced curriculum that nurtures curiosity, confidence and a lifelong love of learning. With small class sizes and a strong pastoral framework, every child is known as an individual and supported to believe in themselves, persevere through challenges, and succeed in their own unique way.

Our approach ensures that each pupil develops not only academically, but also socially and emotionally — preparing them for the next stage of their education and for life beyond our doors.

Choosing the right school is an important decision, and our Admissions Team is here to make the process smooth, personal and welcoming. Admissions are non‑selective, with places offered based on availability and our ability to best support each child’s individual needs. This ensures that every child who joins Bowdon Prep is well supported and able to thrive.

We warmly encourage families to visit and experience the school first‑hand, gaining a true sense of our ethos, community and approach to learning. Whether you would like to check availability, discuss entry points or simply find out more, our team is here to help. Please contact us directly or complete our online enquiry form to begin the conversation. admissions@bowdonprep.org.uk

Entry points and admissions procedure

The main entry stages are Kindergarten and Reception (ages 3–4) but occasionally places do become available in other year groups.

Admissions procedures vary slightly by age, but the process typically begins with a personal visit – a chance to tour the school, meet staff, and experience our friendly atmosphere first-hand.

  • Kindergarten: children are invited to a Stay and Play session
  • Pre-Prep: girls enjoy a Taster Session with their year group
  • Prep: pupils take part in a Taster Day, spending time with a buddy, meeting teachers, joining lessons and activities and lunch with new friends

At every stage, we want families to feel informed, supported and excited about joining the BPS community.
