World Book Day 2015

6th May 2015

School was a beautiful paint box of colours as pupils dressed in kilts, saris, kimonos and national costumes, and all gathered in the hall to celebrate World Book Day. Each year group from Kindergarten to Year 6 studied a book set in a different country, and extended their research to look at the geography, history and culture. Teachers reported that this was an exciting way to find out about people and places; the pupils enjoyed listening to and reading stories, trying food and making displays of their work. The number of books borrowed from the school library rose dramatically as children clamoured to read about ‘Grandpa Chatterji’, ‘Madeline’ and ‘The Chinese Cinderella’ for themselves.
